I recently watched Sevencore fall apart. It was nearly identical to AC2. A game sitting in Beta with a small following waiting for changes that would never come. The game was complete, designed with a 3d engine and very playable. However, poor management & greed from the company turned it's small fan base into a ghost town.
After spending years developing the game tiny easy correctable mistakes would drown out it's players. The Warrior class was nearly invincible in PVP, a simple mathematical adjustment that would take months to handle. It also lacked a lot of content.
There was a time in the first few months, just as AC2 is now that players where willing to give it a shot. After the first few months many of the top players just left in frustration and disappointment.
AC2 is now just repeating history with the same mistakes.
The player base is declining "as it naturally will", but it's unnecessarily being accelerated by this ridiculous discrepancy in solo exp. A simple mathematical equation easily fixed.
While the code is being reworked on for a new chat system I see so many playing less and not returning.
With all the issues the game faces you could at least have the dignity to modify the exp in a single day.
It's as depressing as watching Everquest players shout for a group for 2 hours then log out for the night and never get anything done. I watched that happen on many occasions in the past as a byproduct of their "forced grouping".
It's difficult to get more than 1 mana party on a weekday. If the game is going to treat solo play so poorly during these slow times I don't see a reason to continue playing.
