Dissapointed at difficulty coming back

Hello,

I originally began playing this game when I was 10 years old back in April of '00. I played it growing up all the way through high school, quit for college, and came back this month to play once again.

Once coming back, I started on DT. Don't worry, I'm not here to complain about PVP, I actually like open world PVP, and AC's is so much better than any other big name MMO, such as WoW.

My complaint is that I started a brand new character, worked my way through Facility, hit 50ish and joined an allegiance, and then hit a brick wall. I have a full suit of the Lucky Gold Letter armor, two heavy weapon swords and maces (I'm dual wield heavy weapons), and my allegiance has a level 7 buffs buff bot.

At first, some of my allegiance mates showed me a place where I could kill wisps, and get a lot of experience quickly. This was great, but I did the grinding all day years ago and wanted to do quests.

I quickly found the AC Wiki, and started looking at the level ~60ish contract quests. I thought to myself "Well, I don't have the best armor, but I do have some rend weapons, and I do have level 7's. As easy as the facility quests were, I should be able to solo these, right?"

I was wrong. It seems that after Facilities, you are somehow suppose to gain very high AL armor, and weapons of all types (Rends most likely, as non-rends don't do great damage as a melee).

I was very frustrated. I couldn't imagine what a complete new person that may have not joined an allegiance, or may not even have gone to the length that I had of getting a full suit of the gold letter armor, would have done in this situation.

I guess they would do what I have done, and just get frustrated and get bored. Sure, I could find some nice person to leach off of, or go grind in a dungeon, but it seems that Turbine put in the time to add a new type of quest just to fit this problem. However, in the midst of doing this, it seems they only have players that already have great gear in mind.

So my question is to Turbine and to the other players, what am I intended to do? Just grind to X level? Beg someone for a full tinked suit so I don't get my butt kicked?

I already put a lot of XP into my magics, so I can self buff a combination of 6's and 7's now so I'm not a complete leach. What should a level pre-80 character be expected to do?

Thanks,
