Card still being charged after account cancelled

After a brief nostalgic return to Dereth earlier this year (to check out AC2 more than anything) I cancelled my account again at the beginning of February, got the confirmation of cancellation email and thought nothing more of it until I had an email from Turbine about the double billing issue. So, I looked into it further: my account was not cancelled after all and, to add insult to injury, I had been double billed in April and the refund on the overbilling was for less than had been taken! Admittedly, it's probably due to exchange rate fluctuations but it's still not acceptable.

I've submitted a ticket but the automated reply said response times are 5-7 working days, which is frankly appalling!

My question though is more about Turbine's track record in situations like this - are they sensible, check the facts and just do a refund, or do they get all stupid about it and refuse to refund? For the record I have not logged into the game at all since (supposedly) cancelling the account. If it's the latter I'll dispute the charges with my bank and let them handle it. Yes, I probably should have noticed earlier but my wife does all the bank stuff and assumed it was a legitimate charge but that doesn't excuse Turbine's screw-up with the cancellation.
