Why does amuli and other types of armor make you move and slide slower?

Hi, Shenti again, leader of #TeamShenti and most likely best PK on the entire game (how is this relevant, you ask? Keep reading.), and to me, speed is everything. I do everything fast. I am a fast person. I like to go fast. I also like to look good. I'm very fashionable. I have several suits on FrostFell that are amuli-based, which makes them worthless for PvP.

Why? Because amuli--as well as other types of armor, such as robes--definitely slows your character's movement and slide-casting speed down noticeably. Perhaps a PvE bear or a novice PvPer would not notice the difference at all, but considering the level of PK I and my associates have ascended to, it is all too obvious for us.

Don't believe me? Equip some amuli leggings and slide-cast around. Then take them off and try again. Notice that you move just a little bit quicker? Why? What on earth is the point of this?

My theory is that during development of the game, the old adage that "mages are slow and are melee bait; they also like to wear robes and other forms of light equipment because they are weak physically" caused the developers to put some sort of archaic "debuff" code on certain styles of armor, making you move slower. Since this occurs on robes and other mage-like equipment, it seems likely, no?

5% speed can mean the difference between killing and being killed. It is a problem. I want to look my best (and amuli is great when done correctly), but I also want to be AT my best in terms of PvP capability.

Please have a developer look into this. There is no reason for a silly speed reduction in ANY form of armor.

Thanks.

#TeamShenti
