So since enlightenment is one of the big updates we're getting, I thought this would be a good place to consolidate any questions which I know there are a couple that I myself and some others have. Hopefully Sev will be able to take a few minutes to answer or players can give their thoughts a well.
Im sure some of these will be answered simply by seeing how things are when we log in, but I thought id go ahead and put up all the questions I had anyway, starting with the 2 big ones:
1. How will pre-existing Patron/Vassal relationships work? Namely: if both characters are now 275, and the PATRON opts for enlightenment, they technically were at one time the same level, so since the vassal was below the patron initially, will the vassal (still 275) be immediately able to push XP to the patron (now back at lvl 1)?
2. What will happen to housing/mansions when Enlightening a character? In addition to account age restrictions, do the level restrictions still carry over? Will someone find themselves needing to re-purchase a house if they take the path of enlightenment? This was brought up by my monarch yesterday so I thought I would ask for him, since putting together a mansion kit can take some time.
3. Will we be able to change the look of our character when undergoing enlightenment, or will it just be a skills reset? If it is possible to change our looks, will retired hair styles be lost in this process? (Yes i know the old pony-tails are ugly but its worked for 14 years so heres to hoping I can keep it!)
4. Will the 2 skill credit quests need to be re-done? Does Ralirea need to be hunted down again and will we need to search for Oswald again, or do these carry over? If they DO carry over, will we see them when re-building the character? Or will they appear again when we reach the levels at which the quests would normally be available?
5. Will players still retain & have access to all their spells/recalls? I know sev mentioned society flaggings in the sticky thread (saying we would be recognized in our old ranks upon reaching the level to enter a society) but will this hold true for things like recalls which are often acquired through level specific quests (bobo recall 80+, mt.lethe 20+, aerlinthe 60+, caul 90+, bur 150+, rynthid 180+)? Will we be able to even use these recalls before reaching the appropriate level at which they could be acquired, or b/c they simply take us to an area, will they still work as normal?
6. Will the requirements be based off of max level (275) or max level AND max luminance? If it is max luminance, is there any way to actually tell? Would it be based on haivng maxed out one of the luminance seers? Would one have had to complete all of nalcianas augs (even the ones like mana consumption rates?)? Basically, what is the criteria going to be for being eligible to take the path of enlightenment?
7. Will there be any way to know by IDing someone that they are enlightened or know how many times they have done the process? I know another player suggested it showing a +1 to levels (to make the max possible 280 with the last 5 being jsut to indicate how many rounds of enlightenment have been done) and I think that would be a pretty cool idea!
