Connect but will not update

I have been at this awhile now, have port forwarded, applied exceptions wherever they are needed and the Update Progress bubble fails to start, with connection lost after about 30 seconds.

Am running windows 8, router is a Thomson tg782t and is configured wirelessly, ports 9000-9013 are forward to this computer, AC client and launcher have exceptions in the firewall and anti-virus is disabled, yet it still will not update....

Any suggestions?
