Tailoring Problem

I wanted to break down some amuli leggings to abdomen slot, so I did. I then wanted to make them look like another pair of white amuli leggings. So I reduced the white ones also to abdomen. I then put a tailoring kit on the white ones and tried to apply them to the amuli leggings I want. Both were reduced to abdomen. I got this message:

This look has been reduced.

And it also says that I or one of the pieces of armor do not meet the requirements.

I then made the original leggings look like a storebought girth and then tried to put the white leggings on top. Nothin.

Did I do something wrong?
